Churchyard

You may have noticed some changes in the Churchyard over the last few months. Work has begun to make the churchyard garden a place of accessibility and welcome for the congregation, the community and for visitors, while also demonstrating good sustainable gardening practice, focusing on the benefits of biodiversity and a wide range of pollinator-friendly plants.

We also aim to make it easy and possible to maintain by volunteers from the church and the city working together with the council.

We are excited to make the churchyard a place of beauty, celebrating God’s creation, and as part of this we have plans to develop a ‘theological’ garden: not just a place of peace and rest in the middle of a bustling city, or even a collection of well tended plants, but a garden which will, in time, offer a unique way to engage with aspects of the faith, by interacting with and exploring the natural world.
Our churchyard is not big, but it can still be beautiful!
